Urban Pace CEO Lynn Hackney Receives Brava Award
Washington, DC, August 11, 2015 – Urban Pace CEO Lynn Hackney has been named one of SmartCEO magazine’s Washington Brava Award Winners for 2015.
The Brava Awards program celebrates female CEOs, nonprofit leaders, and high-impact executives who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community. Brava Award winners are selected for their exemplary leadership, both within their companies and in their communities. They encourage local philanthropy, mentor up-and-coming leaders, and set their companies on the path to tremendous growth.
In the July/August issue of SmartCEO, Lynn is profiled along with the other Brava Award winners. The story notes that when Lynn started Urban Pace, most residential multifamily brokerages were focused on larger buildings in suburban locations. “This was when the urban areas were still struggling a little,” Lynn told SmartCEO. “I was very early to recognize that development in the future would migrate toward the urban core.”
By honing in on urban neighborhoods, Urban Pace was able to capture an impressive amount of business. “Over the last two years, we’ve overcome the competition to achieve close to 80 percent market share,” she pointed out.
Lynn serves as vice president of the executive committee of the Washington, DC, Building Industry Association, the largest real-estate organization in the metropolitan area. She also is active in the Urban Land Institute and has launched two nonprofit boards — one at a women’s advocacy organization and one for an animal rescue group.
Congratulations and “Brava,” Lynn!
